Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
At Surfleet Primary School, our nursery and reception classes provide a happy, nurturing environment where children develop a love of learning through play, exploration and discovery.
Play is at the heart of our curriculum, helping children build confidence, creativity, independence and resilience. Through a balance of child-initiated and adult-led activities, children learn to explore, problem-solve, develop relationships and become enthusiastic learners.

Learning in Reception is carefully planned to develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed for a successful transition to Year 1. Our curriculum follows the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and is supported by Development Matters, ensuring children are well prepared for the next stage of their education.
