Computing

At Surfleet Primary School, we aim to ensure every child leaves with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in an increasingly digital world. Through our ambitious Computing curriculum, children develop computational thinking, problem-solving skills and digital literacy that support learning across the curriculum and prepare them for the future.

Computing is taught throughout the school using the Purple Mash scheme of learning, providing a progressive curriculum that builds knowledge and skills year on year. Children learn key aspects of computer science, information technology and digital literacy, while developing creativity, resilience and logical thinking.

Online safety is embedded throughout our curriculum and school life. Children learn how to use technology safely, responsibly and respectfully, recognise potential risks, and understand how to seek help when needed.

By combining high-quality Computing education with a strong focus on digital citizenship, we equip children with the skills they need to use technology confidently, safely and purposefully in school and beyond.
