RE

At Surfleet Primary School, Religious Education helps children develop respect, understanding and appreciation of different faiths, beliefs and cultures. Through learning about Christianity and other major world religions, children explore important questions about life, faith and values while developing their own sense of identity and belonging.

We teach RE through the Jigsaw RE programme, an enquiry-based curriculum that encourages curiosity, reflection and critical thinking. Christianity is studied throughout the school, alongside Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism and Hinduism. Lessons are built around key enquiry questions, helping children deepen their understanding of religion and its role in people's lives.

Early Years Foundation Stage

In Early Years, children begin to develop an understanding of themselves and others, learning about different communities, celebrations and traditions. This supports the development of kindness, respect and an appreciation of diversity.
