Train to teach with us

Keystone Academy Trust is a Primary Lead Partner with Lincolnshire ITT (Initial Teacher Training), hosting a primary hub in Bourne, developing the next generation of teachers. This collaboration allows our trust schools to offer hands-on, school-based training across our academies, blending practical classroom experience with expert guidance. By working together, we ensure that trainee teachers are well-prepared, confident, and aligned with the values and standards that define our trust.

As part of Keystone Academy Trust our school is proud to host teacher trainees.  Trainees are placed in our school for the majority of the school year and undertake a second school placement of approximately six weeks, as part of the programme. Trainees start placements as the school year starts, so that they can see their mentors foster relationships and set routines with their new classes.

Centralised training is undertaken weekly, through a mixture of online and in-person sessions, as well as directed study. On average, trainees are in school four days a week – learning on the job. The school-based nature of the course means that trainees have a considerable time in classrooms, observing expert subject teaching and practising teaching themselves.

Would you like to train to teach with us?  If so, then you will need to have a UK Honours degree or equivalent, at a minimum of 2:2.

If you meet this requirement and are interested in finding out more about how to train to be a teacher then please visit the Lincolnshire ITT website:  https://www.lincolnshirescitt.co.uk
